HTH 400: Leadership Fieldwork
Balancing Individual Student Rights with School Culture Reflection
How do discipline policies impact school culture and student outcomes? How should individual circumstances play into discipline decisions? In this fieldwork reflection, I consider how principles of individualization and overall school climate apply to a specific challenging discipline dilemma.
My goal is to seek to understand rather than implement reactive policies. This includes reaching out to all parties to understand implications for the school, in addition to connecting with students involved in order to understand their perspectives.
